چکیده

Background: Gossypium hirsutum, the most widely cultivated crop in world has concurrent importance for both fibre quality and yield. Polygenes regulate cotton output a variety of factors affect characteristic. As result, it is essential to have thorough knowledge relationships between different component traits quality. Thus, aim study was framed know about correlation along with cause-and-effect relationship among economic traits. Mathod: Eight parents 56 hybrids made up experimental sample our study, which were evaluated 18 economically significant The conducted at Department Cotton, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, 2021-2022. Results: Analysis variance highly all studied. result revealed that viz., number bolls per plant, boll weight, seeds boll, upper half mean length strength had high magnitude positive seed yield genotypic phenotypic levels. Path analysis represented direct effects length, uniformity index, on Hence, these can be used as selection criteria improvement cotton.

QTL analysis for early-maturing traits in cotton using two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses

Making use of the markers linked closely to QTL for early-maturing traits for MAS (Marker-assisted selection) is an effective method for the simultaneous improvement of early maturity and other properties in cotton. In this study, two F2 populations and their F2:3 families were generated from the two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses, Baimian2 × TM-1 and Baimian2 × CIR12. QTL for ea...

Repeatability and stability analysis for fiber traits in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Cotton fiber quality is defined by several traits, which are affected by genotype×environment interaction (GEI). The objectives of this work were to study GEI of fiber traits, the repeatability and the effect of the size of testing environments in detecting cultivar genetic differences by High Volume Instrument (HVI), and the usefulness of two GEI derived stability indices, σ2i and GGE Instabil...

Combining ability analysis for within-boll yield components in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).

Cotton is an important cash crop worldwide, accounting for a large percentage of world agricultural exports; however, yield per acre is still poor in many countries, including Pakistan. Diallel mating system was used to identify parents for improving within-boll yield and fiber quality parameters. Combining ability analysis was employed to obtain suitable parents for this purpose. The parental ...

Mining and Analysis of SNP in Response to Salinity Stress in Upland Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Salinity stress is a major abiotic factor that affects crop output, and as a pioneer crop in saline and alkaline land, salt tolerance study of cotton is particularly important. In our experiment, four salt-tolerance varieties with different salt tolerance indexes including CRI35 (65.04%), Kanghuanwei164 (56.19%), Zhong9807 (55.20%) and CRI44 (50.50%), as well as four salt-sensitive cotton varie...

Characterization and Functional Analysis of PEBP Family Genes in Upland Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) is a naturally occurring photoperiod-sensitive perennial plant species. However, sensitivity to the day length was lost during domestication. The phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein (PEBP) gene family, of which three subclades have been identified in angiosperms, functions to promote and suppress flowering in photoperiod pathway. Recent evidence indica...
